The Woman Behind the Work
Candace Chandler-Ortiz
Candace speaks to the part of a woman that survived something and has not yet been told she is allowed to bloom. Her work is not motivation for its own sake, it is the slow, honest labor of taking a story apart, finding what is still gold inside it, and handing it back to the woman it belongs to. She has stood in rooms of ten and rooms of a thousand, and she brings the same thing to both: the truth, said kindly, said plainly, said until it is believed.
